What Happens to my Stream and Recording if I Lose Internet Connection?

When you stream, make sure you have a microSD card inserted in your camera and formatted, as your stream will automatically record to the card simultaneously.

If you lose internet connection while you are streaming, your camera will attempt to reconnect for 30 seconds and continue recording. If you are unable to reconnect, both the stream and the recording will stop. You can then switch to hotspot mode and either try streaming over 4G or record to the microSD card.

  • Is there anyway to continue recording to the SD card if the internet goes down.  Seems silly to completely lose the recording when it has the capability of recording locally.

  • I have the same request. It would be so useful in areas with poor LTE connectivity.

  • This is the absolute biggest gripe i have w/ Mevo that it decides to just shut down the recording to the SD card b/c of a connectivity loss...I have to check and recheck my phone throughout the game to ensure it’s still “active”.  There is no reason for that.

  • Connected to wifi started live stream on Facebook then lost connection

  • Definitely should be an option to continue recording on the SD card if Internet is lost.  Experienced this during a power failure.  30 seconds is not long enough for the router to come back up.

  • GoPros have a similar problem where they stop when the stream goes down and I hate it. If Mevo Start had the option to continue streaming until explicitly told to stop I would buy one immediately. I would also like to see that when streaming resumes it is seamless and doesn't cause any glitches in the recording.

  • We are using a MEVO to Live Stream my son's high school baseball games.  They've had two games and in both games, a portion of the game was lost on the SD card because the connection was lost.  It would be perferrable to have the camera continue recording to the SD card and give a notice rather than just stop the recording.  Also monitoring the stream with my phone constantly both drains my phone and keeps me from using it for anything else during the game, meaning I have to keep it dedicated to that task.  Simply getting notifications about connectivity and keeping the recording going would be helpful.

  • If this is the Mevo "helpdesk" why are they not responding to these repeated requests?  It HAS to be a simple programming fix so that the recording CONTINUES at the time of the internet loss... it's a royal pain to worry about missing a recording.  It shouldnt be this hard (i'm ok w/ the loss of 'streaming' but not ok w/ the stopping of the recording until the STOP button is pushed).

  • Absolutely no reason for the software to stop recording to the sd card when streaming. If you stream, it’s going somewhere that is recorded. If mevo stops streaming and won’t save locally, then what is the point of the mevo video streaming camera. I can get a $20 camera to do that. One internet hiccup and a recording stops? So dumb… I want to record images locally, and stream. Do people actually want to only record if it is streamed? That implies that the event recoded doesn’t matter as much as the streaming process.
