The Mevo Start and Mevo Core both offer a range of audio processing options that can help tailor the microphone behavior for different environments. These settings are accessible from the Audio Mixer in the Mevo App and are especially helpful for live streaming or content creation in dynamic environments.
Audio Processing Options
To view and change audio processing settings, tap the arrow next to Mevo in the Audio Mixer within the Mevo App. This will display additional audio settings.
- General – Best for a mix of speech and music. Minimal noise reduction and reverb removal.
- Music – Designed to retain a wide frequency range, perfect for recording instruments. Noise reduction is turned off to avoid distortion.
- Speech – Focuses on spoken word using beam-forming from all 3 internal mics. Reduces noise from behind the camera.
- Wind – Suppresses wind noise by analyzing wind pressure and frequency across the mic array.
Auto Gain Control (AGC)
AGC helps maintain consistent audio levels, adjusting automatically based on environment and input level.
- Music – AGC responds slowly to avoid imbalances in music dynamics.
- Speech – AGC reacts more aggressively to ensure spoken word remains clear and audible.

Audio Processing Options
If you're using the Mevo or Mevo Plus built-in microphone, position the camera close to your subject (ideally 5 feet away) for best performance.
The mic is directional and will follow your edits during streaming.
Access settings by tapping More Options (•••) in the bottom right of the live edit view:
Then tap the gear icon to access Audio & Video settings:
- Audio Enhancements: Toggle on to reveal two options:
- Music – Adds filtering and dynamic range compression to prevent peaking.
- Speech – Adds a low-pass filter for clarity.
If using Speech mode, you’ll also see Noise Cancelation, which is useful in noisy environments (e.g. HVAC, street traffic).
- Mic Pad: Reduces incoming audio gain to avoid distortion from loud signals.
- Echo Suppression: Recommended for iOS users bringing in external audio via the app or headphone jack to avoid feedback.
- Mix All Channels: Appears when using USB audio input.
- ON: Mono input is duplicated to both channels. Stereo inputs are mirrored.
- OFF: Mono input remains on one channel; stereo input remains true stereo.
