Mevo cameras periodically receive firmware updates that enhance performance, add new features, and improve stability. Most updates are delivered through the Mevo app and can be completed in just a few minutes.
Important
Some firmware updates are required to use the camera. Others may be optional but highly recommended. Always ensure your firmware is up to date to avoid bugs or compatibility issues.
Tip: We do not recommend updating firmware immediately before an event.
How to Update Firmware
- Power on your Mevo camera.
- Open the Mevo App and connect to your camera.
- If an update is available, a notification will appear automatically. Tap Update Firmware to begin.
- The LED on the camera will flash while the firmware is downloading, transferring to the camera, and installing.
- Once the update is complete, the camera will reboot. The Mevo app will confirm the update was successful.
Best Practice
For the most reliable update experience, connect your mobile device to the camera’s hotspot instead of your local Wi-Fi network.

What If the Update Fails?
- Ensure your mobile device is connected to the Mevo hotspot and within close range of the camera.
- Avoid updating in environments with heavy wireless interference, such as offices with multiple access points.
- Restart the update process:
- Hold the Mevo power button for 30 seconds to force a shutdown.
- Power the camera back on and try again.
- Enable Airplane mode on your mobile device, then disable it to reset wireless settings.
- If the update fails immediately or multiple times, please open a support ticket for further assistance.
