Mevo Start: Hardware Diagram

The Mevo Start is a compact, all-in-one camera designed for live streaming and mobile production. Below is a breakdown of the camera’s physical components to help you better understand its layout and connection points.

Front of Camera

Microphone Array

The Mevo Start features a high-quality 3-microphone array designed for clean, directional audio pickup. It supports stereo and noise-cancellation processing and works well for voice and ambient sound recording during live events.

84° f2.8 Glass Lens

The lens offers a wide 84-degree field of view (FOV) and fixed focus, optimized for streaming setups including vlogging, interviews, house of worship, and sports. The f/2.8 aperture allows for decent low-light performance while maintaining sharp focus throughout the scene.

LED Status Indicator

Located just beneath the lens, the front LED provides real-time feedback during power up, streaming, recording, and connectivity status. The color and blinking pattern change based on the camera’s current state. See our LED guide for a breakdown of indicator behavior.

Back of Camera

Battery Level Indicator

A set of 4 small LEDs near the top of the camera shows remaining battery capacity when the camera is powered on. Each light represents approximately 25% of battery life.

Power Button

The power button is located beneath the battery LEDs. Hold it for 3 seconds to power the camera on or off. If the camera is connected to USB power and the "power on with USB" option is enabled, it may also power on automatically.

3.5mm TRS Audio Input

This dedicated 3.5mm TRS input is designed for microphones or audio mixers using analog line-level signals. Phantom power is not supported, so ensure your mic is self-powered or externally powered. For more advanced setups, USB audio interfaces can also be used through the USB-C port.

USB-C Input

The USB-C port supports charging, data transfer, power delivery to external devices, webcam mode, and wired Ethernet adapters. It’s a multi-functional port designed to adapt to your specific workflow.

Learn more about its capabilities in our USB-C functionality guide.

microSD Card Slot

The Mevo Start uses a microSD card (Class 10 or higher required) for local recording. While the camera can stream without a card inserted, recording requires a properly formatted card. For best performance, use a U3/V30-rated card from a trusted brand.

Visit our microSD card compatibility guide to ensure you're using a card with sufficient write speed for your resolution and bitrate settings.
