You can create simple lower third graphic overlays in the Mevo app to display key information such as speaker names, titles, locations, or helpful tips. These overlays can help give your livestream a more polished, professional look and are especially useful for interviews, conferences, and educational content.
Requirements!
You must be using Mevo App version 2.5 or later (no subscription required). You also need a supported microSD card inserted into your Mevo camera.
From the live edit view, tap the canvas icon in the lower-right corner to open the overlays editor.
Several overlay options will appear. Tap the lower third option located in the bottom-left area of the screen.
By default, you’ll see a single-line white lower third ready to edit.
To add an image, tap the image icon above the overlay. Grant Mevo permission to access your phone’s photos if prompted. You can then select an image from your library or take a new photo to include in your lower third.
You can use the paint palette icon on the right to return to the color options while keeping your text in place.
If your design needs a second line of text (such as a title under a name), tap the two-line icon at the top of the screen.
Use the color palette at the bottom to choose from various background colors and select either black or white text for contrast. Tap the color scheme dot that matches your desired look.
Adjust the background opacity using the slider on the far left for more subtle or bold overlays.
Tap into each text line to enter your desired content. When you're satisfied with the overlay's appearance, tap the checkmark on the right to save.
You cannot edit the overlay once it's saved. Make sure everything is correct before tapping the checkmark.
The overlay will upload to your microSD card for storage. Once uploaded, it will appear in your saved list. Tap the overlay to preview it.
Tap the checkmark in the lower-right corner to push it to your live output.
Lower thirds will not appear in the live edit view, but you can verify they are active by checking the output monitor.
To remove a lower third, tap the canvas icon again, then tap the red delete icon on the active overlay.
Finally, tap the checkmark in the lower-right corner to confirm removal. The overlay will disappear from your output.
Your viewers will no longer see the lower third.
Tip: Use lower thirds to introduce guests, highlight key points in a conversation, or subtly brand your stream. If you're teaching or presenting, try adding fun facts, quick tips, or timestamps to keep your audience engaged.
