Turning on debug logging

You can enable debug logging on your Mevo camera by following the steps below. This creates log files that our support team can use to diagnose any problems you’re encountering.

How to Enable Debug Logging

  1. Download this archive .
  2. Extract the two log files (lscam.log and lscam_hw.log) from the archive.
  3. Move these log files to the top-level (root) directory of your microSD card. Make sure they are not inside any folders.
  4. Restart your camera. Your Mevo will now collect additional diagnostic data in these files.
  5. Duplicate the issue you are experiencing. Then, power off the camera, remove the microSD card, and retrieve lscam.log and lscam_hw.log. Attach these files when contacting our support team.

Best Practices

  • Use a freshly formatted microSD card: A clean, FAT32- or exFAT-formatted card helps avoid file corruption. If you need to format on a Mac, use Disk Utility; on Windows, right-click the card in File Explorer and select Format.
  • Safely eject your microSD card: On Windows, right-click the card in File Explorer and select Eject. On Mac, drag the card’s icon to Trash (which turns into an Eject icon) or click the Eject button next to the card in Finder. This prevents data corruption.
  • Insert or remove the card when your camera is off: Powering down first reduces the risk of corrupting log files or damaging the card.
  • Confirm file placement: Check that lscam.log and lscam_hw.log are in the root directory and not inside a subfolder. This ensures the camera can properly read/write logs.
  • Attach both log files in your support request: Submitting lscam.log and lscam_hw.log together helps us piece together a more complete view of your camera’s activity.
