The Mevo Start and Mevo Boost do not offer a traditional video output such as HDMI or SDI. This means you cannot connect these cameras directly to projectors, TVs, or video switchers through standard video cables.
The new Mevo Core does include a built-in HDMI port, allowing you to connect directly to video switchers, projectors, and other devices that require a physical HDMI connection. This makes it ideal for in-venue productions and workflows where a wired connection is preferred.
How to Output Video from Mevo Start or Older Mevo Cameras
While the Mevo Start and Boost models do not have HDMI or SDI ports, they support several alternative output methods designed for streaming and professional workflows.
1. USB Webcam Mode
You can connect your Mevo camera to a computer using a USB cable and use it as a webcam. This works with popular third-party software including:
- OBS (Open Broadcaster Software)
- Streamlabs
- Livestream Studio
- vMix
- Ecamm
- Wirecast
For setup instructions, see our guide on using the Mevo as a webcam.
2. NDI Output
You can also use NDI (Network Device Interface) to send your Mevo's video feed over your local network. This is ideal for setups where your computer and camera are on the same network and you need to ingest video into supported software like OBS or Livestream Studio.
Learn how to use NDI with Mevo by visiting our NDI guide.
3. SRT (Secure Reliable Transport)
All Mevo cameras support SRT, a professional-grade streaming protocol that is ideal for sending live video over unpredictable networks. SRT provides lower latency and better error correction compared to traditional RTMP streaming.
This is especially useful when streaming to remote production software or servers that support SRT, such as OBS Studio (with plugins), vMix, or a custom cloud setup. You can configure SRT by selecting it from your streaming destinations in the Mevo app.
These output options allow you to use your Mevo camera in a variety of live production environments without the need for HDMI or SDI connections — unless you are using the Mevo Core, which does provide HDMI output directly.
