All Mevo cameras can stream to X (formerly known as Twitter) using the built-in functionality in the Mevo app. Please note that X now requires a paid subscription to enable live streaming. Additionally, there is a resolution limitation of 720p when broadcasting to X.
Limitations
X (formerly Twitter) 720p Max: You cannot exceed 720p when streaming. X also requires a paid subscription to stream live content.
Connecting to X from the Mevo App
After you power on your Mevo camera , launch the Mevo app , and connect it to your mobile device, you will arrive at the live editor screen.
1. Tap the red button in the lower-right corner of the screen.
2. Select the Twitter icon (the Mevo app may not yet reflect the recent branding change to “X”).
3. A browser window will open, prompting you to log in to X (formerly Twitter). Once logged in, authorize the Mevo app to access your X account. After authorizing, you will see an alert confirming that your stream will be limited to 720p. Tap Confirm.
Selecting Your Streaming Settings
- Tap your profile name in the lower-left corner to select it as your streaming destination (it may already be selected by default). At this time, streaming to X Groups is not supported.
- Tap the Twitter icon in the lower-right corner to push your stream to X. It will turn blue when enabled (white means disabled).
- Enter a title for your stream.
- When you are ready, tap Go Live.
The gearwheel icon in the Mevo app settings lets you log out of your X account whenever needed.
Monitoring and Ending Your Stream
After a short moment, your stream will go live. You will see a timer in the bottom-right corner showing your live duration.
Tap the timer for more information about your current broadcast, such as battery life, bitrate, and audio source.
When you are ready to end the stream, tap the small red dot in the bottom-left corner, then slide it to the right. Your stream will end immediately.
Saving the Recording
Once the stream has ended, you will have the option to save the video to your feed and/or a microSD card in your Mevo. Storing a local copy is a good practice for backups and future editing.
