Mevo Wired and Wireless Webcam Mode

You can now use your Mevo camera as a web camera on your computer. This enables you to use any of your Mevo cameras with your favorite software. e.g. Video conferencing software such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Discord or Video Switching software like Livestream Studio, vMix, and OBS. 

There are two ways to connect your Mevo products to your computer. 

  1. Wired Webcam / UVC
  2. Wireless via Mevo Webcam App

 

Wired Webcam / UVC

UVC stands for "USB Video Class" which is a USB driver for cameras to be used via USB. This allows the camera to be used as a wired webcam. UVC functionality requires that the camera is plugged in to your computer similar to how you would use a traditional webcam. Note that you will no longer be able to record or stream while using the Mevo Start camera as a wired webcam. No downloads are necessary.

  1. How do I enable it: Simply double tap the power button after your camera has fully booted up. You will here a short chime that lets you know that the mode has been enabled. If you'd like to disable it, simply double tap the power button again. 
  2. Plug it into your computer via USB and your system will see it has a standard webcam. 
  3. Select it as your video source in the app of your choice (example: Zoom)

Mevo Webcam App

Wireless connect your Mevo Camera or Mevo Studio app to your computer via our Mevo Webcam App.

You MUST uninstall your current Wireless Webcam installation before installing this new build.

Minimum MacOS version: 12.3.

Minimum Firmware: Mevo Core 1.1.2 / Mevo Start 4.5.1.

The Mevo Webcam App now offers new controls over your Mevo camera via wired webcam (UVC) or wirelessly when connected to the same network as your computer.

Pro tip: After your camera is on, double tap the power button to place it in wired webcam mode.

Install the Mevo Webcam App

  1. Connect your camera to the Mevo App to ensure you have the latest updates.
  2. Connect your camera to the same network as your computer running the Mevo Wireless Webcam software.
  3. Download the Mevo Wireless Webcam software here: Mevo Webcam App

  4. Install the Mevo Wireless Webcam software.MacOS_Install.gif

  5. Select the camera you wish to use from your Mevo Wireless Webcam Tray.

Troubleshooting Steps

The app is telling me my camera firmware is out of date

Google Meet isn't seeing my camera
Depending on your version of MacOS, you may need to disable SIP. You can follow the steps in this article to disable it: Disable SIP
